Blogathon 2007 and Perfect Me
Ok well The Woman sat me down and gave me a biscuit. I knew there was something up because she doesn't just sit me down and give me a biscuit. Usually I have to plow the back forty first before I get a biscuit. So I knew right off.
So she got on the floor with me and said,
"Tosca, would you consider yourself a lucky dog?"
Well I thought about that, even though I knew it had to be a trick question. But the truth is, even though she is a crackpot, I am a lucky dog. I get the best food, I run and play and go for walks. I have all the toys I want. I get lots of love and I even have my own personal cat. I mean, that's pretty lucky. So I said "Yes" to her question even though I knew it had to be a dang trick.
Well then she went on to tell me:
"Tosca, it is important to give back to your community, particularly the animal community. God-Dog will smile upon you when you do this. You will garner many Biscuit-Points if you give back."
Well I was thinking, Ok, I'll give back some toys. Or maybe some kibble or something right?
Wrong.
While plying me with biscuits I did not earn, the woman talked me into signing up for Blogathon 2007. That's where I have to blog ever single fershtunkin' half hour for 24 hours for the charity of my choice. The woman will give me food and water and log me on and that's it. She isn't going to stay up but I have to. Kind of like how we dogs patrol the house every hour or so to make sure everything is ok. So I thought about it and to quote Martha Stewart-Dog, This Is A Good Thing.
The blogathon will start on July 28 and now I'm gonna tell you about my favorite charity, which is Spring Farm CARES Animal Sanctuary. Now this isn't just any old animal sanctuary, let me tell you. The animals that aren't adoptable have a home for life. This is the animal sanctuary de tuttie animal sanctuaries, let me tell you. They are a home to about 300 animals at any given time. Many of the animals are handicapped, elderly or behaviorally challenged. No matter. They have a permanent home at Spring Farm CARES. It's not only about dogs and cats either. No sir. They rescuse all kinds of animals in need. Right now they have 32 horses and ponies, goats, sheep, llamas, dogs, cats, rabbits, ducks, chickens, and a few exotic birds. They give them love and care for life in a nature setting besides, yup they do!
I think the coolest thing about this wonderful place with a boatload of land is that the the dogs and cats live in rooms furnished like living rooms, enjoying as much of a “home” atmosphere as possible! No kidding. If you saw this place you would flip! And they do it ALL on private donations!
It gets better, if that's at all possible. Not only are they a sanctuary for the needy among us, but there is one huge thing that sets them apart from all other animal sanctuaries. Are you ready? I'm biting my foot here! The thing that sets Spring Farm CARES Animal Sanctuary apart from any other animal sanctuary in the entire world is that they are the World’s First Center for the Teaching of Interspecies Communication. That's right!!! Are you biting your foot or what???? You can actually go there and be with your human and learn how to commisserate with nature and get to know each other really well! Dawn, the director, is a renowned animal communicator and does a lecture circuit all over the USA on this subject. She has also written many books too. All the money from the sale of Spring Farm CARES books goes right back to the sanctuary to help more animals. How cool is that?
I tell you Spring Farm CARES is the bomb! They have a feral cat and speuter program too, and are responsible for spaying and neutering thousands of animals. They are on a never ending quest to love animals, create a peaceful existence between animals and people, and protect our environment for all of us. I'm telling you, I'm biting my foot here, this place is so special. I could go on and on about how loving and cool this place is, but see for yourself how cool this place is. Plan to stay awhile at their site, because there is no end to the cool things they do for animals!
Well but so anyways, now all I gotta do is get somebody to sponsor me for the Blogathon 2007. I am biting my foot here because I'm just a dog, really. So I don't know any dogs that have money to sponsor me. That means, their humans will have to do it. But so anyways, I'm willing to take the chance. Hey, I need those Biscuit-Points with the Dog in the sky! Besides, I know this place and they deserve to be sponsored by a lucky dog such as me. Spring Farm CARES is a place where, to quote their own selves "The World Can Change, One Heart At A Time".
Ok I am gonna put on my best begging face right now. Help Tosca help Spring Farm CARES Animal Sanctuary if you can. And if not, I still love you anyways. A lot.You can make a donation pledge to sponsor me right here. It will spur me on to victory on July 28, even though The Woman will be sleeping while I, on the other hand, will be blogging my heart out for 24 hours. When you click, just look for Perfect Tosca's pledge box and the sponsor link will take you directly to Spring Farm CARES' secure donation site.

We willl support our shirt tail cousin Tosca. We noticed a cat had already raised over $300 and has 15 sponsors. Don't let Mojo get something else on Tosca. Essex and Deacon
So cool so cool! You can always count on family! Don't worry about the cat. I just signed up today. The cat's been there for awhile. Besides, Mojo also supports Spring Farm CARES big time! But still, it is kind of embarrassing!
Do you have a button I can put on my blog for your blogathon like Meeshka does?
If you don't have one, and don't know how to make one, maybe Greg at Dogs with blogs can make you one.
